AboutHOMA GAMES
Founded in 2018 by Daniel Nathan and Olivier Le Bas, Homa Games offers a comprehensive technological solution for mobile game developers, enabling them to optimize the entire development cycle and compete against major studios. In the flourishing mobile gaming market, one prominent player is the French giant Voodoo, which has raised approximately $517 million since its launch in 2013.
The mobile gaming market experienced significant growth in 2020, fuelled by the pandemic. While consoles account for 51% of the total French video game market and PCs 22.2%, the mobile ecosystem represents 27%, or €1.4 billion. This revenue represents a 16% increase compared to 2019, according to SELL (the French Union of Leisure Software Publishers), which draws on data from App Annie. Casual games, which usually don’t require much time commitment, such as puzzles or arcade games, are among the most downloaded. Homa Games has specialized in this particular segment.
A year after a $50 million funding round, Homa Games has raised an additional $100 million from Quadrille Capital and Headline, with participation from Northzone, Fabric Ventures, Bpifrance through its Large Venture fund, Eurazeo, and Singular.
Homa Games’ successful fundraising effort attests to the ongoing potential of the mobile gaming industry, especially in the realm of casual games. The funds will further bolster Homa’s technology solution, enabling developers to more effectively compete in an increasingly vibrant and competitive space.
